The IRL Twitch streamer Joey Kao, better known as JoeyKaotyk, may face legal consequences for his latest stream in Japan. His recent trip led to him being detained by Japanese authorities for questioning.

His latest stream on June 20 didn't only land him in actual legal troubles, but in "Twitch jail" as well as he has been banned from the platform until July 28.

JoeyKaotyk Was Arrested For Trespassing In Fukushima

On June 20, JoeyKaotyk and his buddy Michael Gakuran went to explore the ruins of Fukushima's disaster. Ever since the devastating tsunami hit the nuclear power plant, Fukushima has been closed off to the public as it's still considered radioactive.

Joey and Michael didn't seem to be too concerned with that. Apparently they went into abandoned homes in Ōkuma, a nearby town that was affected by the catastrophe – most of the town isn't inhabitable to this day. Authorities were quick to end what was basically trespassing by the pair, detaining them for 35 days.

On July 25, Joey took to Twitter again, telling his followers what had happened. He also shared that he was banned from Twitch yet again – ironically, his last Japan trip in 2022 got him banned on Twitch as well (for undisclosed reasons).

Joey and Michael have already announced that they have lots of stories to tell about their time. With Joey banned from Twitch, we'll have to be patient for the time being – at least until he can stream again and shed some more light on what happened exactly.
