The Witcher Season 4 Will Switch Main Characters & We're Not Talking About Henry Cavill

Saying goodbye to Henry Cavill is one thing, but having less Geralt as the main character as well? That's a lot. Still, it only makes sense for Netflix' The Witcher season 4 to switch not only actors, but the main character.

The Witcher Season 4 faces a bunch of problems. Fans are most concerned about the recasting of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt after Henry Cavill left. But now we're hearing about one recasting they may be more happy about.

With the show's source material, the fantasy novel series by Andrzej Sapkowski, we can already guess where the Netflix series is headed in its fourth season and guess what? A new face for the White Wolf maybe won't be that big of a deal if we don't see him as much.

From Geralt To Ciri: The New Main Character

The main character switch we're talking about isn't at all related to the whole Hemsworth-Cavill-situation. Season 4 will have a switch of perspective as Ciri (Freya Allan) now takes center stage, according to executive producer Tomek Baginski.

It's like the books intended: season 3 has been an adaptation of Time of Contempt (and frankly did a better job with that than the previous seasons), meaning that Baptism of Fire is next on the list. And that's where it's really Ciri's time to shine.

Freya Allan has proven in season 3's volume 2 that she's more than capable to captivate audiences and her performance as Ciri has come a really long way. By meeting The Rats in the season 3 finale, she was greatly set up as the new main character.

  • Remember when finding Ciri was YOUR biggest concern, not only Geralt's? Remind yourself by replaying The Witcher 3.

While fans still struggle a bit with Cavill's departure, but maybe the aspect of having an epic adventure with Ciri and her Rats will dull the pain.

Wind's howling, you say? That's the least of our problems with video games.
