FIFA 23 Shapeshifters: New FUT Promo Explained

Position Changes And Stat Boosts

If you've played FIFA in recent years, you're familiar with it. The Shapeshifters promo was introduced in FIFA 20 and features crazy position changes and enormous stat boosts. During this event, field players can switch to goalkeeper positions, and goalkeepers can appear as strikers.

But EA also included something new for the Shapeshifters.

New Premium Chemistry System

Premium Chemistry returns to FUT with Premium Shapeshifters to provide more powerful links to your squad. Player Items with Premium Chemistry – which will be signified by the Crown logo at the top of their card – have the same chemistry qualities as Heroes. They will receive Full Chemistry when in their designated position and give two League links instead of one.

Twin Icons

For the Shapeshifters event, EA Sports is utilizing the Twin system. This means promo cards receive two equally strong cards that can be used in different positions. Depending on the position, the cards may also have varying attributes, skill moves, and weak foot abilities.

The ♊︎ Symbol above their OVR indicates if they got a twin version.

Shapeshifters Release Schedule – No Shapeshifter Team 4 In FIFA 23

Team 1 was released on June 16 and kicked off the campaign. New Teams will always release on Fridays at 10 am PT / 1 pm ET / 6 pm BST.

Team 2 was live since Friday, June 23. The final Team 3 followed on June 30 with a mini release on Sunday. While we've seen 4 Shapeshifter Teams in FIFA 22, the campaign will end after 3 Teams this season.
