LoL: Seven Year Old Damage Record Finally Broken

Another LCK record has been claimed! Dplus KIA bot laner Kim 'Deft' Hyuk-kyu has rewritten history by beating an SKT legend in one specific leaderboard. Amazingly, he did this despite the odds being completely against him.

Deft has put his name in the history books once more! The Korean bot laner has broken the LCK record for the most damage per minute dealt over an entire split, thereby proving once again that he is still a world-class player. Over the entire 2023 summer split regular season, he has dealt 730 damage per minute on average to enemy champions.

With this value, Deft beats the seven-year-old record of SKT legend Bae 'Bang' Jun-sik. During the 2016 summer split, the two-time world champion has set a record of 712 damage per minute. Until Deft broke this record, no other LCK player has ever managed to beat the 700 DPM-mark.

Deft claims the unofficial title for highest DPM in an LCK split for the fifth time in his career, which makes him top of the playing field in this competition. In second place comes current JD Gaming bot laner Park 'Ruler' Jae-hyuk with three titles, last topping the DPM tables with 672 damage per minute in the 2022 summer split.

Deft's new record becomes even more impressive if other statistics are taken into account. Deft and his supports, Kim 'Kellin' Hyeong-gyu and Yoon 'Bible' Seol, were not making themselves known as a lane-dominant duo. More often than not, Deft would get out of the laning phase while behind the opposing bot laner in gold and experience!

At the 15 minute-mark, Deft ranks ninth in CS share of his team out of all the LCK bot laners, while his gold share leaves him in seventh place. However, if you divide his damage per minute with his gold per minute, his gold value converts into damage by 159.74%. In second place ranks Hanwha Life Esports bot laner Park 'Viper' Do-hyeon with 138.3%. His advantage to Viper in this ranking is higher than Viper's advantage to last place!
