Some influencers get cancelled for more valid reasons than others, but having killed two cats, without showing much remorse at all, seems like a pretty legit reason to me. The Australian influencer Emma Claiir begs to differ, as she is taking a social media break after “the story got taken way out of proportion”.

Australian Influencer Upset That People Are Mad About Her Killing Two Cats

If you need a little rundown on the situation, on April 17, the influencer co-hosted the Simply Chaotic podcast when she explained how she killed her cat.

I was like swinging my cat around. Like I was just thinking it was like a stuffed toy and I accidentally let go of it.

This already probably would have caused an outrage, but she nonchalantly continues to state that she also killed her best friend's cat after.

  • If you're Team Cat, you should check out Stray! The really makes you feel like a cat trapped in a Cyberpunk-esque world.

Obviously, kids are stupid but come on! She even explained how her sister wouldn't speak to her for months and how her mom was “f*cking fuming”. How did she do the same thing again to her best friend's cat at that?

What really got people upset, though, was the way she handled the situation. Most people criticized how she spoke about it like it was a joke, lightheartedly talking about her taking the lives of two cats “accidentally”.

People online weren't just gonna let that slide, and multiple brands she worked with thought so too, dropping her because of this.

Emma, on the other hand, feels like “the story got taken way out of proportion” and that “started a witch hunt” to get her canceled. Sure, maybe the death threats against the mother of a newborn child are way too much, but the way she handled the situation was just completely out of pocket.

She even made an Instagram story saying “Again sorry not sorry for an accident that happened over 20 years ago.” doubling down on shoveling her own grave by saying “Sorry not sorry for having a giggle about it because I think still 20 years on I’m in shock by it.”

  • Perhaps touching grass isn't all it is cracked up to be? Look at this influencer. She didn't turn out all that great. Maybe get that PS5 and enjoy some good'ol gaming!

She's probably never seen “Don't F*ck With Cats” on Netflix, otherwise she definitely would have picked her words more wisely. For now the influencer decided to say goodbye to social media, as all the backlash, death threats etc. have taken a toll on her mental health.

There's some f*cked up people out there, just look at this dude:
