"I Would Love To Come Back": LoL Legend Wants To Play Professional Again

The active career of a well known and beloved LCS player won't be ending this season. According to the veteran, he plans to return to the North American competition in 2024.

Whether it will be with his current team, or a new one is still uncertain, since his contract is running out after this season ends.

Doublelift Wants To Play LCS In 2024

Yiliang "Doublelift" Peng recently sat down with dGon Esports and gave his thoughts about the ending of the current Split, his time in 100Thieves and most importantly, about his future plans and career steps.

And he has some good news for all LCS fans out there, when asked if he plans to come back for the 2024 Season, the veteran stated that, "I mean, I hope so. If it was my choice I would. I would love to come back next year, stronger than this year". So should there be a team willing to pick up Doublelift, it sounds like he's open for any suggestions right now.

Doublelift on coming back to pro play: "I would choose it again without hesitation."

Until the end of November, Doublelift is contracted to the 100Thieves franchise, with whom he played an underwhelming split. The team just reached the 8th place in the LCS regular season and didn't qualify for the following group stage.

Asked about his split with 100Thieves and the relationship with his teammates, the veteran said,

I had very good experiences with all my teammates. I think everyone was trying so hard the whole year, it was definitely not from a lack of effort that we weren't able to reach our potential. [...] Whether we play together next year or not, I think they have great futures, all of them

He finished his statement and spoke to his fans directly, and once again stated that he want to come back next year,

I will always be super grateful for your support and positive words. It really means a lot. This is not it, I want to come back next year stronger

Doublelift had an illustrious career so far and has been part of the League of Legends pro scene since 2011. He is known for his time in big teams like CLG, TSM and Team Liquid. He claimed titles everywhere he went, and so many fans are hoping to see DL back in action.

It will be interesting to see, where Doublelift might end up, a contract extension at 100Thieves might be a possibility. We guess, fans shouldn't be worried about DL's future, since he's still a ground solid player and brings ha huge fan base and social media following with him.
