It's clear what a mouse has to do: be precise, responsive and unintrusive. And that's exactly what HyperX promises with their Pulsefire Haste series. We already checked out the wired mouse, which delighted us with its quality. Just 59 grams in weight, a flexible cable and a Pixart 3355 sensor supporting up to 16000 DPI made for a very strong showing from HyperX. Now we have the wireless version. But is it actually worth it? Let's check it out!

To begin, let's check out what the official numbers say about the capabilities of this mouse in general:

So, this is pretty typical of what we find for lightweight gaming mice for $50-$80. So, what does the HyperX Pulsefire Haste have that other gaming mice don't?

Construction & Comfort

The construction aspect of HyperX Pulsefire Haste is just top-notch. And don't even get me started with the comfort. This mouse practically melts into your hand. After a short time, you will forget that you even have anything in your hand. But even despite its miniscule weight, it never feels cheap or unstable. It is made of solid material and together with that honeycomb shell design and the super solid wheel, you have top-notch mouse feel over here.

It's also worth mentioning that the mouse comes with additional glides and anti-slip tapes, so regardless of what style of mouse you use, you have the option to adjust it for yourself. You can also connect the mouse to your PC or console with a USB-C cable, which not just charges it, but also turns the mouse into a wired one. So if you don't always want to play it loose, you can chain yourself to your platform again.

Precision

How does the Pixart 3355 perform in this mouse? Surprisingly well; we tested the mouse on various mousepads, and its performance was outstanding on all of them. However, there's one catch.

During the testing, I could see a slight difference at higher DPI values when using the mouse on slightly heavier mousepads – here, the precision somewhat drops, but we want to emphasize that it stays at a pretty good level. Still, if you want to get the most out of this mouse, we recommend using a slightly softer mousepad, especially if you are one of those high DPI players. That's often the case with premium gaming mice, though – they can offer you magic, but you have to adapt to it. However, the magic that the HyperX Pulsefire Haste offers is totally worth it.

And of course, HyperX Pulsefire Haste also has some built-in DPI presets and these are:

  • 800 DPI
  • 1600 DPI
  • 2400 DPI
  • 3200 DPI

NGENUITY Software

Dedicated software tools are a standard feature of high-end gaming mice, which help to personalize and control all essential settings. In the case of HyperX Pulsefire Haste, we have access to HyperX NGENUITY software, which you can download here.

Honestly, this software is very intuitive to use compared to competitive options. In games, where we rely mainly on the performance of our mouse, we want to adjust the settings to our needs without any problems. And well, we have absolutely no complaints for NGENUITY in this matter. And for all the gamers who play on budget hardware, if you worry that this software might slow down your PC, you can chill; NGENUITY puts virtually no strain on your CPU and RAM unlike other software of its kind, which is also a big plus.

Price

The official HyperX store lists this mouse for $80, but you can find it for a price as low as $50. And honestly, it's hard to find anything better in this price range, especially for a lightweight mouse. So, not only is it relatively underpriced for what it offers, but it also beats some slightly expensive mice in their features.

Verdict

This mouse is just beautiful; lightweight, well-refined software, reasonable price. The only downside is that you may want to try different mousepads for it, to find the perfect one. But to be honest, that is also a bit of a requirement, even with high-end mice.

So, to conclude – do we recommend the HyperX Pulsefire Haste for gamers? Yes, 100%. It's beautifully designed, is fully customizable, offers an incredible level of comfort and precision and is one of the finest, least intrusive mice I have ever tried out.

Thanks to HyperX for sending us the Pulsefire Haste!
