The second half of version 1.2 of Honkai Star Rail finally went live and with it, the new limited 5-Star character Kafka enters the battlefield! And oh boy, she really made a remarkable first appearance in the beginning of Star Rail's story line. This time however, she created a truly unforgettable scene.
What do you think, is the best part of a new Honkai Star Rail update? — The new character? … Well Almost! Even more exciting are the absolutely gorgeous and scenic trailers, each new unit receives right before their grad debut.
This time around, it is finally Kafka's turn, and without a doubt, this could be the most memorable trailer in a really long time! No less than such a fantastic character deserves, obviously.
Let's take a closer look at some of the beautiful details.
Honkai Star Rail: Kafka's Trailer Is Literally Mindblowing
Just a few hours ago, the newest Honkai Star Rail trailer “A Dramatic Irony” dropped, showing off the beauty of the next Stellaron Hunter: Kafka. And to no one’s surprise, the community absolutely loved that thing to death.

It's just so enjoyable to see, that the comment section of said video is full of love and appreciation for Kafka's unique design and especially the music is an absolute fan favorite and fits her almost too perfectly.
Before we get into any further details, let's take a look at the trailer first:
Wanted Level: Highest. Dead or alive.
To pick up where we had just left off, we should absolutely talk about the music first! Everyone, who paid at least the tiniest bit of attention during music class, should recognize the played melody quite fast. It is a super cool remake version of Antonio Vivaldi's “Winter”, which is a pretty intense piece of art anyway. Mixed up with a bunch of techno elements, it makes an extraordinary fitting theme for an elegant, yet strong character like Kafka is one.
Next, it is absolutely worth paying attention to the implementation of Kafka's theme into her kit and the video itself. In order to understand, why she looks how she does, a quick look into her lore is more than enough.

It should be to no one’s surprise, that Kafka stole her name from someone, we primarily know from our literature class in school. Franz Kafka was one of the most popular novelist and short-story writer in the 20th-century. One of his most remarkable works “Metamorphosis”, is a story about a salesman, who finds himself inexplicably transformed into a huge insect after waking up in the morning.
And what exactly does this have to do with Kafka from Honkai Star Rail, you may ask? Well, actually, when looking at her skills and design in general, Kafka does resemble a spider in many aspects of her look and clothes. Just some examples:
- Kafka's jacket sleeves hang freely behind her, mimicking the six appendages of an insect.
- She wears a butterfly pin on the left lapel of her jacket.
- Her glasses sit on her forehead above her eyes, imitating some insects and most arachnids possessing multiple rows of eyes.
- Kafka's Spirit Whisper ability has strings appear from her hands, referencing a spider's webs.
