The GTA Online weekly update is here and it's a doozy. For the second week of January, we're getting the Gun Van with a new weapon, a hard mode event and a new series of events and missions.
A new week, a new GTA Online weekly update. As usual, players got a slate of new content, bonuses and benefits. Here's everything that came to GTA Online with the latest update.
GTA Online Weekly Update: Everything From The January 12 Update
With the January 12 update, Rockstar are introducing and highlighting a bunch of cool content. This includes the very fun addition of the Gun Van! There is also a new weapon, a fun hard mode event and some new highlighted community events.
Gun Van & Railgun
The Gun Van is new in GTA Online and it pretty much does what you would expect it too. It's a van driving around Los Santos and Blaine County, selling you more-or-less legal goods for that 'oly 'ollar. The inclusion of the Gun Van also bring a new weapon to GTA Online: the Railgun!
Of all the wacky weapons in GTA 5 and GTA Online, the Railgun was always one of my favorites. So it's good to see it permanently added to the game. Here's a list of every weapon you can buy at the Gun Van:
- Railgun
- Combat Shotgun
- Assault Shotgun
- SMG
- Assault Rifle
- Heavy Sniper
- Compact EMP Launcher
- RPG
- Knife
- Baseball Bat
- Molotovs
- Proximity Mines

Hard Mode Event: The First Dose Missions
The Los Santos Drug Wars event introduced the First Dose missions, and these are now part of a special event. Playing these missions will grant you an extra 50% GTA$ and RP for a week, and completing certain challenges in the brand-new Hard mode will earn you some special loot.
Here are all Hard Mode event challenges and rewards, available until February 8:
- Complete any Hard Mode First Dose Mission: Green Fooliganz MTL Brickade 6x6 livery
- Complete any Hard Mode First Dose Mission without dying: Kisama Driver Annis 300R livery
- Complete any Hard Mode First Dose Mission in less than 10 minutes: Speed Demon Ubermacht Cypher livery
- Complete three Hard Mode First Dose Missions: Safari Ranger Overflod Entity MT livery
Community Series
As usual, Rockstar is highlighting some particularly creative and entertaining fan-made events and missions in the Community Series. Playing selected modes and events like 'gokart Docks race' by 0Xenox0 or 'Maze Bank Melee' by aleenur gets you double rewards all week. Find a full-list of all featured events on Rockstar Newswire.
