Remember when Rockstar Games was hacked? This obviously lead to the infamous GTA 6 leaks, but it was also alleged that the company had other resources stolen, including code. Now, a few months later, it looks like GTA 5 source code appeared online.

GTA 5 Source Code Appears on Github

According to DSOGaming, parts of the GTA 5 source code were leaked onto the open source website Github. At the time of writing, the download is not available anymore. But DSO allege, that you can still get the source code fairly easily.

It's important to emphasize that this is just one part of the source code, which usually is the foundation a whole game is built on. As it's not the whole thing, the chances of GTA 5's security being in some kind of danger is low. Also, Rockstar is taking care of that already, so no need for illegal activity.

It also has to be said, that it is not proven yet, that this leak has to do with the September hack, but it seems very likely to be the source. It was recently announced by Take-Two, that GTA 6 won't be delayed due to the hack, so that game does actually seem unaffected... for now.
