After a long time of wait, Final Fantasy 16 is finally here. FF16 will probably be one of the best games of 2023, but will it be available on PC?

Although the PS5 release has taken place already, Square Enix is still acting oddly secretive about the game's PC port. Here's what we know about the upcoming PC version of Final Fantasy 16.

Several trailers have confirmed the upcoming PC port of the game and increased the anticipation of players. In a 2020 reveal trailer, the enticing announcement ended with the words "Also available on PC," leaving no doubt about the game's expansion beyond console borders.

During the 2022 Game Awards, a stunning new trailer revealed the release date of the PS5 version, which took place on June 22. However, a startling twist awaits at the end of this visual masterpiece: The game is advertised as a “PlayStation exclusive”…. With an asterisk.

The fine print of this asterisk reads the following:

"not be available for other platforms until December 31, 2023.

But that is not all, in an Ascii interview with the game's producer Naoki Yoshida, it was officially announced that the PC version will definitely come. He explained that they will only start production of the PC port after the PS5 release. But when can we expect Final Fantasy 16 to release for PC then?

At the very earliest, we expect a PC port in the first half of 2024. However, since they are just starting production now, the whole thing may be delayed even later in the year. We suspect that the PC port will come no sooner than 6 months (probably more) after release.

There was a similar situation with the Final Fantasy 7 remake, which became available on PC over a year later. Hopefully we won't have to wait that long for the new title.
