However, as soon as you get to the loading screen, the game tells you that you are unable to get online.

More often than not, this is due to the EA servers either being offline, undergoing maintenance, or experiencing some random problems. Of course, there is no way to know that unless you have a reliable way of checking the EA servers. While there are a few different avenues for checking the status of EA's servers, we recommend heading directly to the source first. You can go to the EA Check Server Status website to see the various ways to check your specific system's servers. The website guides you through checking the server status for your game as well.

However, if you are looking for more of a direct update, then you should head to the EA Help Twitter account. More often than not, if there is a problem with any of EA's servers, this account will make a tweet about it and offer a timeline for when the issue is expected to be resolved.

Finally, you can also go to the DownDetector website and navigate to EA's dedicated page. DownDetector is a website that allows players to report any instances of their game going down. If you see a large spike in player reports, then you can likely assume that the EA servers are experiencing trouble. If there are more than just one EA titles popping up, you can almost be sure that there is a problem with the EA servers.

Those are three main ways of checking the server status for EA. If you don't see anything out of the ordinary on any of these three pages, then you might want to check your own Internet connection.

Can't Log In To An EA Online Game: Internet Connection Checklist

If there isn't any information about known server issues, but you still can't log in, then the problem could be your internet connection. Here are a few tips what you can try out in this case:

  • If you're in touch with some other players over Discord or Teamspeak, ask them whether they have the same problem. If they don't, you can be pretty sure that it's a local problem with your internet connection and not a server based one
  • Check whether the EA game you're facing issues with is blacklisted in your Antivirus software or firewall
  • Restart your router
  • Restart your PC or console
  • If you're using a VPN, check whether the connection works when you turn it off
