Diablo 4 was one of the most anticipated games of the year and reached a massive player base after its release. Even more hype in the hardcore player community was created by Blizzard's promise to put the names of the first 1,000 players to reach level 100 on Hardcore mode onto the Lilith statue. Now it seems to be the case that more than 30 names are missing. The outrage is real.

Diablo 4: Players Enraged About Their Missing Names on Lilith Statue

Hardcore Diablo players were hyped about Blizzards announcement that they would put the names of the first 1,000 players, that reached level 100 in the games hardcore mode, onto the Lilith Statue. On June 21 Blizzard released a short video on Twitter, announcing that "1000 #Diablo4Hardcore heroes evaded death". They would provide a full list of names in the coming days.

Later, the announced list with the names and Battle.Net IDs was released. But now it seems like multiple names were missing on the list, that would have been eligible to be on there. This was discussed in a popular thread on the Diablo 4 Subreddit.

Top 1000 HC list for statue not accurate

User "dumptruxxx" shared his experiences:

I achieved level 100 (HC) on June 10th in the top 100ish players and tweeted correctly, but my battletag was not included on the top 1000 list released today July 5th by Blizzard. I see many of my friends/guildmates who I grouped with that also reached level 100 on the list. I made the same tweet as them. We were all in discord together and did it very carefully.

This was followed by him saying, that he hopes that Blizzard might fix this situation, since he and all the other people "put in so many hours of work, with the goal in mind to be on the statue". In the post, he also provided two tweets by him and a friend, that also wasn't included in Blizzards list. Additional, further tweets from multiple other people were linked in a later edit.

There were several attempts by the community to find out why their names weren't included. A few users assume that some of the names weren't really qualified to be on the list, since there were strict rules by Blizzard which players are able to get on. Players had to be 18 or older and couldn't be residents in named countries like Russia, Belarus etc.

Reactions Of The Community

The reactions to these publications were obviously mostly negative towards Blizzard. Many Reddit users are criticizing the selection process of Blizzard. For example, the user "Devx35" wrote:

The contest shouldn't be done via twitter.
There must be database records that should be checked when someone hit lvl 100 based on date.
Blizzard should release this list.

Other users like "ftmidwestnurse" also agreed with him:

There are a lot of posts circulating about this. Blizzard really focused too much on the marketing opportunity with twitter. They should have verified it all with a database query, it's not difficult to pull the data on achieving level 100 sequentially.
I'm not confident in the likelihood of this getting fixed. They've got their list of players and the chance that they remove many of them from the list and admit their fault, doesn't feel like a very "Blizzard" thing to do.

Even some of the biggest MMO influencers shared their opinion of the topic. For example, Asmongold called Blizzard to fix the situation and include some of the missing names to the list

Only the future will show if and how Blizzard is going to react to this outrage. So far, it's very understandable that parts of the community are fuming. It's a very hard and time-consuming task to reach level 100 in the hardcore mode, and ignored players have to feel betrayed by Blizzard.
