However, another leak now tells us that a single player event will take place once the new season begins.

While we usually get a live event at the end of a season in which the Fortnite story continues, there have also been one or two seasons that started with a small single player event.
And this is exactly the concept that will take place in Chapter 4 Season 3, it seems.

The difference with a single player event at the beginning of a Season is that this is not a live event, so no one can miss it. You can always participate as a player when you start the game for the first time in the new season.
