Baldur's Gate 3 is finally approaching its full release on August 3, 2023, for PC and September, 6 for PlayStation 5. As fans of the franchise know, the game is highly inspired by Dungeons & Dragons and includes a ton of rules and systems known from DnD. So since the classes are inspired by DnD, will there also be the possibility to multiclass like in DnD?

Multiclassing In Baldur's Gate 3 Explained
For everyone, who knows Dungeons & Dragons, multiclassing in Baldur's Gate will work pretty much like in 5e DnD. At least that is what the developers said on Reddit:
Multiclassing rules will follow closely the 5e DnD. On level up characters will be able to continue with their current class or choose a new class, provided they meet the requirements. Multiclassing is not going to be available in Early Access at launch, we're planning to add it later.
In more simple terms, this means that players can switch characters with every level up as long as they meet the specific requirements. So basically you can just choose to level another class as soon as your character levels up. This system provides players with the option to combine the numerous classes of Baldur's Gate 3 into a ton of different combinations., so you don't have to worry about your character build too much when picking your class in the beginning.
However, you should always keep in mind that while having that much freedom is great, it can sometimes be better to stick to one class. If you mix too many classes and don't meet the requirements for specific class ability scores, you will miss out on a lot of power and start lacking behind your other companions.
