During a recent stream, the 33-year-old had the monetization of Destiny 2's battle pass explained to him through a YouTube video, getting his eyes opened to the “microtransaction hell” that is Destiny 2.

Asmongold Addresses “Pay To Win” Battle Pass In Destiny 2

Destiny 2 has been popping off with their microtransaction, even Asmongold (who doesn't even play the game) caught wind of this and decided to watch a video on it.

After having the monetization explained to him with a YouTube video made by Aztecross, he has some words to say.

So… Just so I understand, you can expedite getting these pieces of gear by buying levels of your battle pass that will give you the items that allow you to craft these things that give you gold rolls for your weapons? Guys, I think that’s kinda bad.

Thank you, Zack, well said!

This isn't the first time Asmon addressed the microtransaction problem, more and more games are adapting into their monetization model. He already voiced his concerns when Diablo Immortal released to teeth grinding success.

Isn’t it crazy how, like, I’ve never played this game but I already know exactly what’s gonna f*cking happen? Cause, like, it’s the same every f*cking time. That’s so sad. It’s the same song and dance.

The biggest issue is, it works! Game developers are actually making money by putting pay-to-win microtransaction into their games and the as long as players are actually buying them (or at least continue to play those games) nothing will change. In Fact, it will probably get even worse!

Asmongold sums that up perfectly by saying that “the players can complain, but they’ll keep playing.”

With the new branded content changes, OTK (Asmongold's org) might be leaving Twitch:
