I bet many of you have wondered whether you can sell your LoL account or buy an existing one. Some League players want to quit – but do you ever really quit? – and make a profit from their old LoL account. Others want to skip the grind to level 30 and jump straight into the ranked action.

But is buying or selling LoL accounts allowed? What is Riot's official stance on account trading in League of Legends? Let's explore this question together.

League of Legends Account Trading: Legal or Illegal?

When it comes to account trading in the popular Riot Games MOBA, there are two sides. The people who want to sell their accounts and those who want to buy a LoL account for various reasons.

  2. You must not sell, transfer, or allow another person to access your account or offer it for sale.
  3. You must keep your login information confidential.

It's pretty straightforward in our opinion and when you read the three points, it quickly becomes clear that both the seller and buyer violate the Terms of Use.

The points above more or less only refer to the seller, but by engaging in such a trade, the buyer also becomes complicit. So, LoL account trading is not a good idea. No matter the reason, especially if you want to buy your way into a higher Elo...
